In Mail, deleted all On My Mac mailboxes.ħ. I stored them somewhere that is backed-up.ĥ. (This is to stop any mail being moved away from the IMAP mailboxes). In Mail Prefs, disabled Junk mail filtering and disabled (didn’t delete) all Rules. I think this stores mail preferences in iCloud.ģ. Don’t yell at me if you lose all your mail (I did not). The evidence from this forum is that fully clean installs of Mail such as another account or new Mac don’t have this issue, hence this approach. The idea is simply to get Mail a clean start. I was having to Rebuild daily - I have not needed to Rebuild since I did this. Its been one week since I followed the steps below and I have seen only 1 plain text email before that about half my messages from Yahoo were plain text html code.
